About

This institution was established in the year 1984, as part of the initiative of the State government to start exclusive Women’s polytechnics throughout the united State of Andhra Pradesh. The polytechnic, to begin with, was started with two diploma courses, namely, 1) Diploma in Electronics & Communication Engineering (DECE) – 3 years duration; and 2) Diploma in Commercial & Computer Practice (DCCP) – 2 years duration (later its duration changed to 3 years). The polytechnic was started in a private building at Stonehousepet area of Nellore city. In the year 1991, the polytechnic was shifted to its permanent buildings located at Saraswathi Nagar, Dargamitta, Nellore. The new premises were inaugurated by hon’ble Minister Sri Nallapureddy Srinivasulu Reddy (late) and a host of other distinguished guests. In place of Domestic Science and Catering Technology diploma course (which was originally sanctioned, but was not started due to lack of demand), another popularly demanded Diploma in Computer Engineering was started in the year 2009.
