Admission Policy
- All candidates all eligible to compete for Open competition (OC) seats and they will be filled first followed by the seats earmarked for reservation categories. However, the seats vacated by the BC/SC/ST candidates in OC category shall be filled by the respective category candidates as per G.O.Ms.No.550 Higher Education (EC-2) dept. dated 30-07-2001.
- If sufficient numbers of candidates are not available to fill seats reserved for Scheduled Tribe, they may be filled by suitable candidates from Scheduled Caste and Vice-versa. If the required numbers of candidates are not available from both categories, the unfilled seats shall be added to general pool of the local area. âKonda Kapusâ and âKonda Reddyâ resident in the Scheduled areas alone shall be deemed to be âKonda Kapusâ and âKonda Reddyâ of Scheduled Tribes.
- If insufficient number of candidates of any particular group of Backward Classes namely, A,B,C, & D are not available to fill up seats reserves for that group, they may be filled by conversion to other BC groups as per rules in vogue in the order of merit of POLYCET RANK.
Document Retention Policy
Admissions into all Polytechnics are made on the basis of the studentâs rank in the POLYCET examination. Post entrance examination, counseling is carried out in phases when studentsâ original certificates are verified and returned to the candidate. All Xerox copies are taken for future reference. - In the reference 2ndread above, on the request of the Special Commissioner of Technical Education, Andhra Pradesh, Government have constitute a Committee to study and recommend the fee structure to Government for Diploma courses offered in Government and Private Un aided Polytechnics including D. Pharmacy
- In the reference 3rdread above, the Chairman and the Special Commissioner of Technical Education has stated that after detailed deliberations and examining all factors such as AICTE norms, AICTE requisites for Institutions, inflation rate and the request of Managements Association of Andhra Pradesh Private Polytechnics, the Committee has proposed to enhance the tuition fee per candidate per annum in Government, Aided Polytechnics and D.Pharmacy Colleges from Rs.3,800/- to Rs.4,700/- , in Private Unaided Polytechnics from Rs.15,500/- to 31,000/- and in Private Unaided D. Pharmacy Institutions from Rs.17,000/- to 31,000/-
- Government after careful examination of the recommendations of the committee have decided to enhance the fee structure in the Government Aided Polytechnics and Government Pharmacy Colleges, in Private Unaided Polytechnics and Private Unaided D. Pharmacy Institutions keeping in view of improving the infrastructure facilities and providing quality education and Diploma students and the annual inflation rate. Accordingly, the following fee structure is hereby ordered from the academic year 2018-19 onwards for the Government and Aided Polytechnics and D. Pharmacy Colleges and Private Unaided Polytechnics and D. Pharmacy Institutions imparting Diploma education in the State: â

- The Special Commissioner of Technical Education, P., Vijayawada shall take necessary action accordingly.
- a) NCC (National Cadet Corps) : Reservation to the extent of 1% shall be available for candidates of this category. The priority for consideration will be as per GO.Ms.No.21 HE (TE-1) Dept., Dt.13-05-2002.
- b) SPORTS:. Reservation to the extent of 0.5% (1/2%) shall be available for candidates of this category. Certificates issued by various organizations constituted by Central / State Government to conduct the event will alone be considered under this category. The participation in games and sports before the qualifying Examinations will only be considered. The priority under this Category will be fixed as per the rules in vogue at the time of admissions.
- c) Physically Handicapped(PH): Reservation to the extent of 3% for Physically Handicapped 1% for Visually Handicaped,1% for hearing impaired, and 1% for Orthopedically Handicapped shall be available as per G.O.Ms.No.130, Higher Education (TEI) Department, Dated: 06 09 2000. However candidates with defects like Muscular dystrophy, Deaf and Dum, Blindness and mentally retardation are not eligible for admission.
- d) Children of Armed Personnel(CAP): Reservation to the extent of 2% of the seats shall be available for the children of ex-servicemen and defence personnel including Border Security Force and Central Reserve Police.

Circular Memo No.1/Convener/A.P-POLYCET-2018 Sub : TECHNICAL EDUCATION-A.P-POLYCET-2018 Admissions- conduct of institutional spot admission for left over seats- Instructions issued. * * * The Principals of Government/Aided/Private Polytechnics/Second Shift polytechnics running in Engineering colleges in the state are well aware that the final phase of web allotments for admission into First year diploma courses in Engineering/Technology for the academic year 2018-19 were already placed on the website. The candidates were instructed to report at the respective polytechnics latest by13/07/2018.The following guidelines are issued to the Principals to enablethem to fill the vacancies during Institutional Spot Admissions. Principals are requested to adhere to the time schedule and guidelines prescribed hereunder. Regarding tuition fee and other fees G.O.RT.NO:138 Higher Education(TE)Department dated:09-07-2018 has been issued with regard to tuition fee and other fee to be collected from the admitted candidates by the Govt/Aided/Private Polytechnics. Hence, All the principals are directed to download latest allotment order for all the candidates admitted. i.e admitted in Phase-1 , final phase and extended final phase and collect the fee accordingly as per new G.O NOTE: New facility is provided to colleges to check the admission and joining detailsof a candidate. If a candidate is qualified in APPOLYCET-2018 and having Rank, then before giving admission check whether candidate got admission in any college and reported at allotted college by using Hall Ticket status in college login. If the candidate got the admission and reported at allotted college then the candidate is not eligible for spot admission. Hence, all the principals are requested to check the status of the candidate, before granting admission ,in order to avoid problems at the time of uploading details of candidates admitted at institutional spot admissions.- The Convenor did not collect the original certificates of the candidate at the time of granting the provisional admission. Hence, the Principals are requested to thoroughly verify all the original certificates and return them to the candidate except transfer certificate (T.C) and collect only Xerox copies.
- List of allotted candidates and vacancy position after conclusion of the web counseling are placed in the web portal.
- Candidates have been asked to report at the respective Polytechnics on or before13/07/2018without fail . Vacancy position (unfilled seats atthe end of final phase of counseling) of all colleges is placed in students web sitehttps://appolycet.nic.inwhile the vacancy of concerned college can be downloaded by login in through college in the department site .https://appolycetd.nic.in.
- Unfilled vacancies at the end of final phase are placed in respective college login portals ofhttps://appolycetd.nic.in.
- Deduct the number of vacancies filled due to re-allotment from one branch to another branch (internal sliding) and add the resultant vacancies.
- Add dropouts (joined and discontinued).
- Add not reported cases.
- Add cancellations.
- Principals are requested to tally the vacancies with the number of candidates actually on rolls. Final number of vacancies shall be arrived at by adding number of left over seats, number not reported and number cancelled.
- In Private Minority Institutions, THE RAJIV GANDHI RECS POLYTECHNIC, KASIMKOTA AND S.V. POLYTECHNIC FOR PHYSICALLY CHALLENGED ,TIRUPATHI 50% of Polytechnic seats (Diploma seats) are filled by the Convenor and 50% of seats are filled by the Management for which there is no fee reimbursement.

- Fill the resultant vacancies after internal sliding with the candidates in thefollowing orderin the Institutional spot admissions.
- First with qualified candidates of A.P-POLYCETâ2018in order of merit, who have not taken admission so far and passed qualifying examination or its equivalent examination with mathematics as one of the subject in the qualifying examination or its equivalent examination.
- Secondly with thepassed SSC or its equivalent examinationinone attemptpassed qualifying examination or its equivalent examination with mathematics as one of the Subject in the qualifying examination in order of merit basing on the aggregate Marks out of 600/GRADE total.
- Finally with the candidates passed in SSC or its equivalent Examination compartmentallypassed qualifying examination or its equivalent examination with maths as one of the subject in the qualifying examination and in order of merit basing on the aggregate marks out of 600/GRADE total.
- The following shall be submitted at the end of spot admissions to the Convener , A.P-POLYCET-2018 Admissions in person, for ratification purpose on or before 31-07-2018
